Hey folks,

This morning I've sent out emails (to both KS and Backerkit backers) with download keys for itch. 

The Skyrealms itch page contains exactly the same items as the Digital Rewards download on Backerkit, so you should already all the PDFs. But in the future I'll use the itch page as a hub to add new content and organise community events around the game.

If you haven't received the email, check your spam folder, email subject is "SKYREALMS Itch Key".

Digital Pack

Hey folks,

you should have received yesterday an email from Backerkit with a link to download the Skyrealms digital pack.

If you haven’t please check your spam folder, or alternatively submit your KS/Backerkit email via this form https://skyrealms.backerkit.com/backer/digital_rewards

The DURF, Troika, Cairn, DCC, stat conversion helpers are google docs. I found this to be the most handy format, as those files might evolve a bit, based on feedback by the community (the links to the docs are included in the Digital Pack in a PDF Skyrealms_conversion_tables.pdf). For each stat helper I’ve tried to adapt the Skyrealms creatures to the spirit of the respective games. I’m sure these helpers can be improved, and I’d love to hear your suggestions if you have any.

Print test bonanza!

Yesterday I received the last print test for the Standard edition. Those of you who dwell on The Lost Bay Server might remember I wasn’t happy with the previous test. This one hits the right spot, the look, print quality and paper texture are just perfect. I made a little unboxing video of the test, you can check it here:

Deluxe edition

And L.F.OSR, our partner responsible for the Deluxe edition, sent me their final print tests too! It took a little longer than planned to pick the right pink shade for the cover.

The colors of the Standard and Deluxe covers are a bit different mostly because we didn’t take the photos in the same environment (haha) but also because the Deluxe cover paper is actually pink, whereas the Standard is printed. Instead of trying to have both cover colors match perfectly I looked for the best color pick for each printing process.

Production will start late next week and we will presumably fulfill it in late May. I’ll send you more info with details about the fulfillment date by territory when the time comes.

One last thing before sharing more photos. A couple of folks have reached out to tell me they wanted to expand Skyrealms, and write their own content for the setting. I totally welcome these kinds of endeavors, and actually a Skyrealms mini-location, The Wet Forests, will be featured in Huffas’s excellent Between the Skies 3.

If you’d like to jam on the Skyrealms setting/vibe too let me know and join The Lost Bay server, it’s a cool and welcoming community. I’m planning a public digital release of Skyrealms soon, and I’ll probably run a game jam for the occasion.

Pre-Production Update

Hey folks!

A quick update before the weekend.

The shipping fees, and extra add-ons and pre-orders fees, have been charged successfully. Thank you for this!

What’s going to happen next?

• Early next week I’ll do one last proofreading pass, as I am obsessed with typos :)
  
• Digital rewards: we’ll be sending them shortly to all the backers (KS as well as pre-orders). Initially I was planning to use itch, it’s a platform I like, but I’ll most likely switch over to Backerkit digital downloads, as all your info is already submitted into the system. I’ll send you a quick update as soon as it’s done. Should happen mid-April, hopefully at the end of next week.
  
• Standard Pack: I’ll be placing orders next week, and have them shipped to the fulfillment partners. If you’ve grabbed a Deluxe Pack add-on in addition to the Standard Pack, they will be sent together.
  
• Deluxe Pack: I had a pre-production talk yesterday with L.F. OSR. End of next week the batch of deluxe papers should be delivered to them, pink for the zine covers, white for the inside/rest. Then a few print tests will follow, particular attention will be put into picking the thread color. The two options we have considered are either a white shade or the accent color (purplish) of the cover. I’d love to know what you think about this.
  

• T-Shirts: we’ll be launching the production late next week. They’ll be shipped to you with the rest of your rewards.
  
• Stickers: I didn’t mention those, but of course, if your reward includes them or if you have picked them as add-ons they’ll be included into your package.

Again, I’ll send you mini updates with each step of production and fulfillment. I’m so excited about sending the zines to you out into the world!
